TRi Facts (Pty) Ltd was launched by the continent's leading fact-checking network to share Africa Check’s expertise and experience with you. We offer fact-checking training, verification and research services and consulting with a focus on identifying and communicating facts. 

Since 2012, Africa Check has gathered valuable experience how to fact-check and reach people with accurate and reliable information across the continent. As the team was working towards its vision, they built expertise, not only in fact-checking but other closely related fields, such as training facilitation, research, and communication strategy. We are looking forward to sharing this expertise and experience with you.

Juliane

Juliane Hoss

TRi Facts Managing Executive

Juliane Hoss joined TRi Facts in September 2020. Previously, she worked for a global leading management consulting company in Johannesburg. In her work, she focused on cultural transformation in large organisations and gained experience in the field of private equity. Juliane holds a masters from the department of management at the London School of Economics. She also completed a master of science in psychology during which she led her own research projects. Juliane is passionate about entrepreneurship, education and youth empowerment, and started the non-profit organisation Bridging Gaps in 2013 with the aim of reducing injustices in society.
 

Valerie Kondo

Valerie Kondo

Researcher

Valerie Kondo is support TRi Facts as a researcher. She has an anthropological focus on female migration in Africa in which she has worked on several research projects. She holds a masters in social Anthropology and is currently a PhD candidate in Anthropology at the University of Johannesburg with a research focus on the lived experiences of undocumented female migrants in South Africa. Valerie also has over four years’ experience working as an educator in the facilitation of online learning modules to tertiary level students.

Samantha Nontsikelelo Nkosi

Field Research Coordinator

Samantha Nontsikelelo Nkosi coordinates our team of field researchers across the whole country. She provides all the support they need to conduct the interviews, answers all questions that might arise, and aggregates the key insights and findings for our team of researchers. She is an experienced supervisor and passionate about learning and working in teams.

Khumo Motaung

Khumo Motaung

Marketing assistant

Khumo Motaung joined Africa Check in February 2018 as editorial and marketing assistant. Khumo is a LLB law student at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and holds a certificate in advanced radio from the Wits Radio Academy. She ventured into radio two years ago, producing as well as presenting content for a law-focused talk show on UNISA Radio. She also completed a radio programming internship with Jacaranda FM and VOW FM in 2017, where she gained experience in activations, project management and marketing.

 

Nikisha

Nikisha Randall

Admin Support

Nikisha Randall is supporting TRi Facts with administrative tasks. She is passionate about research and developing new skills and particularly interested in learning more about how we can achieve gender equality and justice in society. In addition to her role at TRi Facts, she is volunteering at a youth organisation as a supervisor and facilitator.

Hayley

Hayley Simons

Research intern

Hayley Simons is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Political Science and holds a BA Honours Degree in International Relations (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University. She served as a head student leader for two consecutive terms and worked as a Research Assistant. She is passionate about gender ethical social science research, gender equality, and women empowerment.
